A Sweet Idea

Snow Nouveau pairs authentic Hawai’ian-style shave ice with handcrafted herbal and fruit syrups for an elevated, novelty frozen dessert experience. Rooted in my Big Island childhood and inspired by my obsession with whole foods and real, natural ingredients, I started Snow Nouveau excited to merge tradition with sophisticated, contemporary trends in flavor. 

Sustainable practices are at the heart of our effort to deliver a genuinely high-quality product.  From our fair-trade and organic ingredient sourcing to our kitchen equipment and vending supplies, we strive to make decisions that are good for people and our planet. Our medicinal-grade herbs are sourced in bulk from Mountain Rose Herbs and Organic India, and we purchase our organic, fair-trade cane sugar from our local health food store, Everybody's Whole Foods.  Our small-batch syrups are brewed in stainless steel and always bottled in glass. Compostable bowls, wooden spoons and recycled, unbleached paper napkins complete our 100% plastic-free service! 👏 Shout out to Good Start Packaging for the best eco-friendly supplies.

And for those curious about our name - our brand's title and design aesthetic are a nod to the early 19th century ornamental style known as Art Nouveau (noo-vo) - nouveau meaning "new" in French. Famous for sinuous, flowing motifs inspired by plant forms and nature, Art Nouveau also placed women at the center of its imagery - portraying them as earthy, goddess-like figures. We want Snow Nouveau to evoke this same spirit - blending botanical beauty with feminine elegance and artistry - for a distinctive, fresh take on a classic frozen dessert.
